Pure Perspective :: A Mother's Day Special

This Sunday is Mother's Day in the US and so we're having a few special blog posts from some of our Reece's Rainbow mothers! There is a button too if you'd like!

Jenny Monier, Reece's Rainbow Mother of Dima

Life with my new son, Dima, is more than I ever expected. My life is so full of love, laughter, triumphs, challenges, and a better understanding on my Heavenly Father's love for me. Dima has taught not only me, but everyone he meets just how important it is to love someone regardless of their age, background, or disability. I have also learned that having a child with Down Syndrome is not scary, it is not something to be pitied, rather, it is a chance to see life from a different perspective. A very pure perspective. With Dima life is black and white with very little shades of gray. He keeps me honest. Having a son like Dima also gives me pause to celebrate the little things in life: learning how to pedal a bike, jump into a swimming pool, learning how to pump legs to make the swing go higher, etc... I will never again take life for granted and I will forever be grateful for the lessons Dima is teaching myself and my family.

Yasmine is walking sunshine! What a glorious smile and a personality to match! Yasmine was born with CP. She has congenital hydrocephaly as well. Her feet/ankles are turned in, but she is able to pull to a stand and tries so hard to get around! Surgery and therapy can make a world of difference for this darling little girl.

She is already 6 and facing the institution soon. She is blessed to still be at the baby house.
