Also, I'm sharing this press release from today! The many people that make up Reece's Rainbow, from the advocates to the families that travel around the world and put their own lives on hold for the most part to bring these precious children home, each and every one of these people are WHO Reece's Rainbow is. And, it makes Andrea very uncomfortable to have all of this spotlight just on her efforts....between People Magazine and Congress...it's an honour, but RR is only what it is because of the efforts of ALL of our volunteers, donors, and adoptive families.
So, with that said, I'm so blessed to be able to share this with you today!

Van Hollen Honors Andrea Faris Roberts as an Angel in Adoption™
Rockville, M.D. – Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen has selected Andrea Faris Roberts as a 2010 Angel in Adoption™ for her outstanding efforts on behalf of children with Down syndrome. The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), which coordinates the Angels in Adoption™ program, will honor Ms. Roberts and other Angels at an awards ceremony and gala event in October.
“The work that Andrea Faris Roberts and the entire Reece’s Rainbow organization [emphasis mine] are doing on behalf of children with Down syndrome around the world is an inspiration. Without her efforts, many of these children – who are ultimately adopted – would have languished in institutions with no hope of a family or a future,” said Congressman Van Hollen. “Her compassion, determination, and commitment have made her a true Angel to countless children and families, and I’m honored to join CCAI in recognizing her important work.”
