$5 Voice of Hope Challenge!

Even if you can't volunteer at your local Buddy Walk for Reece's Rainbow, you can give $5 (or more!) to our Voice of Hope fund to help with the tremendous costs we incur to provide promotional materials at these events!

It costs us nearly $20,000 to do this, but the investment is critical for the success of our Angel Tree and for raising awareness of the continued needs of our waiting children to be adopted.

Pass it on, this is SO important, and $5 from each of our supporters will go a LONG way!

You can read more about our Buddy Walk sponsorships and our upcoming Christmas Angel Tree event on this link. http://reecesrainbow.org/sponsorship/buddywalks

Thank you!

Thank you for your service!

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to Shelley Bedford for her dedicated service to the waiting orphans of Reece's Rainbow. As some of you may know, Shelley recently stepped down from our leadership team, after four years and four children with Down syndrome adopted through this ministry. Anyone who knows her can attest to her unwavering commitment and love for these children, even more so, her desire to empower birth families of children with special needs abroad.

We thank Shelley for being available nearly 24/7, and are forever grateful for her extensive knowledge, experience, and willingness to serve our families. Reece's Rainbow could never have grown the way we have without her help. I believe she will continue serving as a liaison for the Bulgaria program, which is such a blessing, because she's really good at it! She has such amazing insight to share with prospective parents, as a special education teacher, an advocate, a military family, and an adoptive parent of multiple older children with Down syndrome.

Our entire team wish her the very best as she brings home Annikah from Bulgaria and they start their lives together as a family of 9!

God Bless you, Shelley and all of your Bedford clan. You'll be missed!

Sweet little Kory!  Doesn't he just sparkle with personality?  A family met him in summer 2011 — he thrives on attention and will do so well in a family.
More information coming soon.

Many more pictures available!

$0.00 is available towards the cost of my adoption!

Please grab our Child of the Week Button at the top of this post for your blog. Each week this button will change to show the current week's child (you only need to add the button once to your blog). The children that will be featured will be ones with $0 or very low adoption grant funds. By hosting our Child of the Week button we are hoping to not only raise awareness for that particular child but also to hopefully raise the amount in their fund. These funds have proven to help families who would otherwise be qualified and able to adopt them, except for the cost of an international adoption, feel able to commit to bringing home and giving the precious gift of a family to these angels.

Thank you for all you do to support and help Reece's Rainbow!

The Roger's and their two blessings

Mel and Erika with 5 of  their blessings
I'd like you to meet Mel and Erika. They met while Erika was attending Bible college and Mel was in the Army. Now days these two are blessed with 7 children and one grandchild. They are getting ready to add to their brood by adding two more blessings! Having adopted 3 children from the foster system they are no strangers to adoption, but Clare and Malachi (known as Christine and Oscar on RR) are their first international adoptions. Erika always knew that she would mother a child with Down Syndrome..God had put in her heart. But she didn’t know if that child would come through birth or adoption. And then one day she came upon Reece's Rainbow and new exactly why God had lead her to this web-site. With their hearts ready to adopt again, she instantly knew this was where their children were. When Mel got home from work, Erika had him look at the website. After feeling like this was God’s calling, they told their children about the choice. To say the kids are overjoyed would be an understatement!

Handsome Malachi
Beautiful Clare
Today, the Roger's family is really excited to be almost at the end of this rainbow. They've submitted their dossier and are waiting on a travel date. They are so close!!! They've worked hard to raise the funds they would need for this adoption. But as you all know, adoption is costly. The Roger family still needs help to be able to make this dream come true so their children can come home.

You can help by donating to their FSP: http://reecesrainbow.org/sponsorrogers.

You can follow the Rogers on their journey to bringing their children home on their family blog here: http://www.arainbowfamily.blogspot.com/

The Center family and their son Wallace

Scott and Rachel are humbled and honored at this opportunity to show God's love and the love of a family to Wallace. They have 3 beautiful children and can't wait to have Wallace home. Their dossier was just submitted this past Thursday which means travel time is just around the corner for them!

The Center family could use our help as they come to their travel time. On their blog they have a Chip-in where you can donate to receive great bands that say "One less Orphan". The asked donation for them is $2-3 plus .60 for shipping. You can find these here: http://rilysilyfamily.blogspot.com/

Or to give a tax deductible donation you can go here: http://reecesrainbow.org/sponsorcenter

Please keep them in prayer as they get ready to go meet their son and if you have a blog please add their button to your blog!

Gotcha Day! Archie Eicher!

Gotcha Day (Picture Version)

All pictures taken by the amazing Whitney Runyon!
Perfect sunrise for a perfect Gotcha Day

View of Kazanluk from the hotel
At the orphanage. Archie has lived here his entire life.
They just told him that Daddy is coming, but he hasn't seen him yet.....
There's Daddy!
Reunited. Finally.
So darn happy.
He LOVES to make pretend phone calls. Here he is pretending to call me. (Using a camera)
"Hey, Mommy! So, Daddy made it here, and I will be home soon"
Still chatting
An older picture of Archie that hangs up at the orphanage
Joey signing the paperwork!
One proud dad
This is a cake that Joey and I bought to thank the orphanage staff and volunteers for all that they have done for Archie for the last seven years. In the top right hand corner are our names, "Joey, Lisa, Ace". And at the bottom it says "with thankfulness to all of you and your care for our son".
So excited about his cake
Anxious. The boy has a major sweet tooth
Love that smile
Shocked by the crazy flames on those candles!

So happy
Time to eat

Ready for the send-off ritual
The child drinks from the bowl of water
and then water is thrown on the steps
And then the child leaves with his new family as he walks over the water
Ready to go! He wanted to drive
We are so blessed to have had so many people LOVE our son so incredibly much. There were a lot of tears as they waved goodbye to him
Driving away from the orphanage
Just down the road from the orphanage, they saw this field of sunflowers and stopped for a quick photo shoot.

Waiting outside of the police station for some paperwork to be finished
Staying close to dad
All done.
Thank you so much to all of our family and friends for your love and support during this part of our journey! We are truly blessed!
Lots of Love!
Lisa
